Fancy Numbers
Fancy numbers refer to a catch-all category of notes with numbers that look or sound nice. They may contain a hint of the golden, auspicious or aesthetic numbers, but far more removed. For example, instead of near-golden two-digit numbers, they have three 0s followed by a three-digit number (e.g. 000129 or 000823). While they have five identical digits, these digits are not placed consecutively but separated (e.g. 222422 or 448444). They may have three or more digit 8s, but these are placed in the front or middle and not the end (e.g. 888934, 088881, or 028885). Instead of a pure laddered number, the digits are “jumbled” up (e.g. 374865 or 974586). Instead of round numbers with five digit 0s, they feature roundish numbers with four 0s (e.g. 230000 or 540000). Although not as distinctive as the golden, near-golden, auspicious or aesthetic numbers, fancy numbers are still slightly different from mainstream notes, and some collectors are also willing to pay more for them.
