Special Designs

Special designs are commemorative notes designed specifically to commemorate a significant milestone. Most of them look substantially different from circulation notes, apart from the 1999 Millennium $2 note (which only had a different logo and not completely re-designed, because the occasion was not unique to Singapore). Every specially designed note has its own motifs, features, and significance. As these notes are issued on a one-off basis, their value increases immediately after release. However, for the notes that were issued in large quantities because the government wanted as many people as possible to own a piece, their value may increase only marginally. Till date, specially designed notes were issued on seven occasions.
